We celebrated, connected, and honored the rich stories and contributions of AANHPI communities throughout May. Thanks to all who helped celebrate by attending AANHPI events, from storytelling to spaces for learning, wellness, and connection, we are about creating opportunities to be seen, heard, and in community with one another.

May 12, 2026 - Yoga & Sound Bath led by Soluna Yoga and Wellness

This year, we highlight Community Voices, dedicated to uplifting the lived experiences and deepening our collective understanding of how immigration impacts our lives. Emcee Suzanne Sutton, MPH and Storytellers of different backgrounds, identities, and ethnicities shared stories of resilience, transition, family legacy, or personal growth.
Thank you to all of our Storytellers -- Jenn Chan, Tiffani Chan, Joanne Ding, Roopa Ramamoorthi, and Janna San Felipe. Storytellers highlighted experiences of sacrifice, resilience, identity, and adaptation, from navigating life in a new country with limited resources to preserving cultural heritage and building community. We heard about the importance of support systems, the pursuit of opportunity and belonging, and a commitment to giving back. Together, these stories deepen our understanding of one another and celebrate the rich diversity that strengthens our UCSF community.

UCSF's Multicultural Resource Center and Soluna Yoga and Wellness helped kicked off AANHPI Heritage Month by grounding our minds and bodies with yoga and a sound bath!

March 10, 2026 - International Women's Day - 5th Annual AANHPI Leadership Panel

APASA is deeply grateful for your presence and engagement in what was a thoughtful and meaningful conversation centered on this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain.”

We extend our sincere appreciation to our moderator, Wylie Liu, for her skilled and intentional facilitation, and to our exceptional panelists—Amy Pradhan, Michelle Stevens, and Jessica Blair-Driessler—for sharing their candor, wisdom, and lived experiences.

Our panelists offered powerful reflections on leadership journeys shaped by personal history, cultural expectations, and intentional growth.

Across these stories, a common thread emerged: leadership is not defined by title alone, but by voice, values, adaptability, and the courage to grow. Your participation and contributions to the discussion and Q&A helped create a collaborative and supportive space for dialogue and shared learning.

IWD 2026 - 5th Annual AANHPI Leadership Panel

Amy shared how strong family expectations and her upbringing in Nepal informed her commitment to collective success, relationship-building, and continuous learning—ultimately leveraging an interim leadership opportunity into her current role. Jessica reflected on how being the youngest shaped her ability to listen and observe deeply, later transforming those strengths into confident leadership through intentional risk-taking and building a trusted advisory network. Michelle spoke to her experience as a 1.5-generation immigrant navigating identity and expectations, emphasizing empathetic leadership, the importance of using one’s voice, and sustaining personal well-being amid constant change.

November 6, 2025 - Open Meeting: UCSF Climate Survey Discussion with AVC Dr. Ruiz

Assistant Vice Chancellor Dr. Eddy Ruiz presented on the 2025 UCSF Community Climate Survey at our November 6th's online meeting. Dr. Ruiz focused on results specific to AANHPI-identifying faculty, staff, and learners, highlighting key themes, data insights, and opportunities to strengthen belonging and inclusion across our UCSF community.
